Carol Foley is a lawyer and Chartered Professional Accountant with over 25 years of taxation, legal and trust expertise including personal and corporate tax and estate planning. She graduated from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton with a Bachelor in Business Administration and received her Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in Halifax. She was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 1987 and the Law Society of Ontario in 2002. She received her professional accounting designation in 1990.
Carol brings a unique combination of accounting, legal and life insurance expertise. She has gathered a diverse estate planning experience while previously working for a wealth management firm, a life insurance company and a large trust company.
Carol is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation. She has spoken at seminars and conferences on tax and estate planning issues for the Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario,the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting as well as several financial institutions. She has led sessions for the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course and taught tax at the University of Toronto and CPA Ontario’s summer school. Carol has written several articles, newsletters and training videos.
